Thin Pizza with Onions and Tangerines
Surely you know the famous Hawaiian pizza, the one that has bits of pineapple. It is one of the few, if not the only pizza we can find with fruit in Italian restaurants. Even so, we wanted to make our own version and, as it could not be otherwise, we have added some quality tangerine.
– A pizza dough
– 3 medium onions
– 200 grams of bacon
– 4 tablespoons of liquid cream
– Olive oil
– 1 quality mandarin
Step 1: Peel and chop the onions in thin julienne. Salt and poach at very slow heat for 15 minutes, with a little oil and covered.
Step 2: Meanwhile, grate half of the tangerine zest and sprinkle it over the base of the pizza, which should be previously pricked with a fork so that it does not rise.
Step 3: Then bake at 356 °F for about 12/15 minutes, or until golden brown. Then cut the bacon in thin strips too and keep aside.
Step 4: Once the onion is made, squeeze it and keep its juice aside. Cover the base with the cream, add the bacon and top with the onion. Bake for another 15 minutes.
Step 5: Meanwhile, mix half of the juice of the onion with all the juice of the tangerine. Sprinkle this preparation over the pizza before serving.
